Swimming Area At Bicentennial Pond In Mansfield Closed After Water Quality Test
Mansfield Parks and Recreation staffers have closed the Bicentennial Pond swimming area.

MANSFIELD, CT — A water quality warning has prompted town officials to close the swimming area at Bicentennial Pond in Mansfield.
The announcement was made Wednesday that the Eastern Highlands Health District's weekly monitoring of the water quality at the pond showed bacteria levels above the "considered satisfactory levels."
"Due to the water quality we will be closing swimming at Bicentennial Pond to both the camp and public until water quality levels are back to a satisfactory level," officials said. "EHHD will continue to test the pond water quality daily. Once the water quality meets satisfactory levels, we will be informed, and the pond will reopen."
