The vehicle struck a marked police cruiser while fleeing from police, and became disabled, according to Boothroyd.

Boothroyd said the four occupants ran from the vehicle and were apprehended after a brief chase.

Three of the suspects were in the possession of illegal firearms, according to Boothroyd.

“Several of these individuals are known to members of this agency for their past involvement in firearm-related incidents,” Boothroyd wrote in a news release. “The first firearm recovered was a stolen firearm, the second firearm recovered was a ghost gun with no serial number and the third firearm had an obliterated serial number. Two of the three firearms contained extended magazines.”

Boothroyd noted that the shooting incident happened around 2:15 p.m., and “due to the hard work, knowledge, and teamwork displayed by members of this agency, four dangerous people were apprehended, and three illegal firearms were recovered within approximately one hour of this incident.”

The incident remains under investigation, and Boothroyd said more information will be released when it becomes available.
