Fire Displaces Families In Meriden
Two families were displaced from their home after a fire in Meriden, according to officials.
MERIDEN, CT — Four people were displaced from their home after a fire Friday in Meriden, according to officials.
The American Red Cross is helping two families – four adults – after a fire on Hicks Street in Meriden, according to a news release.
The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the families' immediate needs. Red Cross responders included Carolyn Piera, Melissa Hunter, Paul Bankowski, and Michael Malone.

“Red Cross volunteers distributed comfort kits containing personal care supplies such as toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire,” officials wrote in the news release. “Additionally, the Red Cross provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts, handling damaged items and more.”
