Police said the SUV’s driver side was damaged, consistent with making contact with the bicycle and bicyclist.
“Based on witness statements and the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the bicyclist was operating his bicycle heading south on Linsley Avenue and failed to stop or yield to oncoming traffic on Hanover Avenue before proceeding on to Hanover Avenue attempting to head east,” police wrote in a news release. “During this time, a mid-sized white SUV was traveling east on Hanover Avenue and had just passed Linsley Avenue when the bicyclist and bicycle struck the side of their SUV.”
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Police said the bicyclist was listed in critical condition, as of Saturday.
