'Extremely Hard Decision': Restaurant Known For Sliders To Close In Meriden

The owner said the announcement was "one of the hardest things I've ever had to type."

MERIDEN, CT — Fusaro's Kitchen will close after over two years in business. The last day the restaurant will be open is Dec. 27.

"Our last day of service will be Saturday 12/27. (Possibly one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to type)," Fusaro's posted on Facebook.

There is an upside to the tough news: Andy, "the Slider Guy," will be welcoming his family's third child this spring.

The decision to close in December is partly due to January through March being "notorious for being the slowest months of the year." This led to the "extremely hard decision" to close before the new year.

"The people that we have met, the rave reviews we have received on our food, the experiences we’ve gained, awards we won…… have made this past 2.5 years AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE."

The restaurant, which is located in the Village Barn at 16 River Road, is known for its sliders. It has a 4.9-star rating out of 15 Google reviews.

"Now THIS is the definition of a hidden gem!" one reviewer wrote. "You would never know that some of CT’s best sliders would be hiding in this unassuming local bar."
