MERIDEN, CT — The cause of death has been determined for the dog that was found dead in a garbage bag in the area of the dog park near Hicks Avenue in Meriden last month, the Meriden Animal Control announced Tuesday morning.

A good Samaritan who was walking his dog outside of the dog park at Beavers Pond found the dog stuffed in a garbage bag floating near the shore on June 25, according to the animal control.
