He ‘Goes Above And Beyond For Everyone’: Meriden Star Student

MERIDEN, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

How do you know the star local student?

He's my son. He has been through so much this year with bullying and my divorce. Yet he still smiles and helps with his sister anyway he can. I just need him to know he's the best.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

He's overcome a lot these past 2 years. Bullying teasing and my divorce, he never lets anything stop him from his journey. He's so brave and strong, I wish I could be like him.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Johnnie always goes above and beyond for everyone he knows and even strangers. He's the greatest kid I know.
