Local Produce and More Available at Meriden Farmers' Market
The market is open Thursdays at MidState Medical Center, as well as Saturdays in the Colony St. parking lot.

The growing season is in full swing, and many local crops now in season are available at the Meriden Farmers' Market.
The market is open both on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings, affording city residents and visitors ample opportunity to select "Connecticut Grown" produce as well as weekly offerings – such as jewelry, flowers, and craft items – from other vendors.
According to the Meriden Farmers' Market website, games, crafts, and other activities for children are also offered courtesy of Meriden Youth Services.
Featured vendors at the Thursday afternoon Meriden Farmers' Market, which was revitalized and moved to its downtown location in 2011, include Gotta's Farm and Beckett Farms, as well as OmNomNom Jams and Jellies. The Thursday market runs from 3 to 6 p.m.
At the Saturday market, which runs from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m., Casertano's Greenhouse will also offer flowers and plants for sale, and other local businesses.
Specialty food vendors offering heirloom tomatoes, cheeses, and honey, are on hand both days. Saturdays at the market feature live music from 10 through noon.
Free parking is available at both locations.
According to the Meriden Farmers' Market website, funding is provided in part by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture through the Community Investment Act.
