Man Arrested In Drug Bust, Stolen Gun Seized: Meriden Police
A man is accused of operating a drug factory after police seized drugs, a stolen gun, and more than $64,000 in cash, officials said.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man is accused of operating a drug factory after police seized drugs, a stolen gun, and more than $64,000 in cash as part of a recent investigation, according to officials.
Members of the Meriden Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit investigated drug trafficking throughout the city during April and May, according to police.
Police said Kemar Smith was identified as a suspect in connection with dealing drugs within Meriden.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Smith’s vehicle and home, according to police.
As a result of the investigation, police said the following items were located and seized:

- Approximately 997 grams of cocaine (just under 1 kilogram)
- Approximately 51 grams of crack cocaine
- Approximately 3 grams of fentanyl
- HK 9mm firearm which was determined to be stolen
- $64,208 in cash (which police said was believed to be drug proceeds)
Smith, 27, was arrested May 14 and charged with operating a drug factory, possession of a controlled substance, risk of injury to a child, possession of stolen firearm, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Smith was released after posting a $750,000 bond with a court date of June 18, according to state judicial records.
