Meriden Resident Named To GNAC All-Tournament Team
The Meriden resident has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Tournament team.
MERIDEN, CT — Meriden’s Isabelle Smith, a junior on the Albertus Magnus College women’s softball team, and teammate Amelia Boulli, of Torrington, were named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Tournament team for their recent performances.
Smith and Boulli had standout performances at the plate during the team's four games in the pod play portion of the tournament.
Boulli had a .455/.455/.571 line at the plate and scored three runs while driving in five.

Smith, a Francis T. Maloney High School graduate, had a .400/.467/.471 slash line with a double, three runs and three RBIs.
Smith had at least one hit in each of the four games during the tournament. Against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on May 1, Smith went 2-for-4 with a run. The following day against Saint Joseph's College (Maine), she went 2-for-4 with two walks, two runs and an RBI in the win. Against Rivier, Smith went 1-for-3, including a two-run double that tied the game. Smith also went 1-for-4 against USJ in the team's' final game.

In the team's 18-10 win over Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on May 2, Boulli went 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs and an RBI. The following day in an elimination game against Rivier, Boulli went 2-for-2 with a run and the eventual game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning in a 3-2 win. In the team's final game against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on May 4, Boulli went 2-for-3 and drove in all of the team's runs in a 6-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
Johnson and Wales went on to win the GNAC Championship, defeating USJ in a three-game series, 2-1.
