Obituary: Ercole M. “Erc” Iarusso Jr, 91, of Meriden
Ercole proudly served in the U.S. Army, was a devoted family man and a dedicated employee Ulbrich's Stainless Steel and Sikorsky Aircraft.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Ercole M. “Erc” Iarusso Jr, 91, was native Meriden resident since 1931. He peacefully passed away on April 17, 2022 at MidState Medical Center.
He was the husband of Ida M. (Rowe) Iarusso of 58 years.
Ercole was born in Meriden on January 24, 1931, the son of the late Ercole Iarusso and Josephine Marinaccio.
Ercole was a communicant of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden. Ercole attended the Meriden school systems and graduated from High School and attended the University of New Haven.
Ercole served his country faithfully in the United States Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey, during the Korean War. Ercole was employed by Ulbrich's Stainless Steel in Wallingford where he met the love of his life, Ida; he later worked and retired from UTC Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford after 21 years of service.
Ercole loved his family and grandchildren, he loved life and he is regarded as a special rare gift to the family. His many activities were spending time fishing, boating, camping, vacations, playing with his grandchildren which he adored. He was happy to be a family man he will surely be missed and his family loved him dearly.
Ercole is the father of Michael E. Iarusso and Carolyn M. Iarusso-Werley; grandfather of Saralyn M. Werley, Ashlyn M. Werley, Shailyn M. Werley. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph J. Iarusso, Jerry D. Iarusso, Nicholas G. Iarusso, sister-in-law, Catherine Iarusso, sisters Claire Mariani and her husband, Arthur, Susan Ingeno and her husband, Joseph and Mary Zacker.
Ercole’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 8:30 am until 9:30 am when his funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
Interment with military honors will follow in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
