Obituary: James J. Rowe, 55, formerly of Meriden

Jim was known as a kind spirit, passionate, hard-working and dedicated, along with being an avid golfer and loving family man.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) James J. Rowe, 55, of North Port, Fl, formerly of Meriden, loving husband of Jaqueline (Charpentier) Rowe, passed away unexpectedly, April 21, 2022 at his home in Florida.

Jim was born in Meriden on August 12, 1966, a son of the late David and Eva (Robinson) Rowe.
Jim went to Saint Rose for early education and then went on to graduate at Maloney High School.

He then went to pursue his dream to thrive within the family distribution business. Jim worked extremely hard to eventually run the business alongside his brothers.

Jim retired in 2020 and moved to Florida semi permanently to golf and relish in his success, hard work and dedication within his career. Jim enjoyed spending summers at the lake house in the company of family and friends.

Jim had a love for laughter and conversations. That’s truly who he was in a nutshell. He relished watching cardinals, golfing, rooting on Joey Logano every Sunday and spending every day with his wife Jackie.

He savored attending concerts, going on vacation, and ultimately just enjoying the company around him.

He was a kind spirit, always putting others before himself. He had a passion to watch people win and succeed, that was his best quality of all.

In addition to his wife, Jaqueline, he is survived by his son, Nick Rowe of Florida; his brothers, Robert, Stephen, Timothy and Thomas Rowe. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Rowe and his brother, David Rowe.

Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 3 pm until 7 pm.

His funeral will be from the Wallingford Funeral Home on Monday at 10 am when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am.

Interment will be private in Florida.
