Obituary: Jane M. Post, 88, of Meriden
Jane, a dedicated and devoted homemaker, cherished her family, loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener.
MEERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Jane M. Post, 88, of Meriden passed away on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the Meriden Center after a brief illness.
Born in Hartford May 2, 1933 to William and Gertrude (Bacon) Millman, she attended Wethersfield schools and graduated from Wethersfield High School.
The family will be forever grateful that Jane survived the Hartford Circus fire unscathed.
She worked at Southern New England Telephone until shortly after her marriage to Donald Post in 1961.
She then became a full-time homemaker and later worked a number of part-time jobs, most notable of which was her time at the Lorraine Exchange Answering Service. Jane loved being outside and working in the yard tending to the shrubbery.
She leaves behind two sons, Kenneth and Gregory Post, and a sister Phyllis Walter, all of Meriden. Her many nieces and nephews span the U.S. from coast to coast.
She was predeceased by her sister Faith Zenzic of Portland CT and her brothers William J. Millman Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC and Richard B. Millman of West Hartford, CT.
There are no calling hours, and burial in the Middletown Veteran’s Cemetery will be private.
