MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Martha Ann (Klein) Norton, 75, of Meriden, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was the loving wife of Frederick T. Norton.

Martha was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa November 4, 1946, a daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Drew) Klein.

She worked for Pfizer Metal for many years. Marty and her husband had a respite/foster home in which they cared for handicapped children and adults for many years.

It was at this time that they adopted their youngest daughter, Kristina. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren.

Every year while her grandchildren were young, she would dress up as Mrs. Clause and go to school to read stories and bring treats for their classrooms. She enjoyed watching them perform on stage and could often be found sitting in theaters or auditoriums watching them perform in band, choir, dance theater as well as outside at sporting events.

Marty enjoyed camping, taking day and weekend trips as well as spending time with friends and family. She would often have small parties and picnics that would turn out to be quite large.

Marty could often be found in the church kitchen hosting breakfast after mass or putting together fundraiser dinners for the Meriden Youth Theater while it was still at St. Stans.

Marty was a caring and loving person who went above and beyond to help anyone who needed it.

She will be greatly missed by one of her closest and dearest friends Beth Wanat as well as many other friends and family.

In addition to her husband Fred, she is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Kelly and Michael Santello Jr., and Kristina Norton; her son, Michael Norton; her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Sierra, Raven and Dakota Santello; extended grandchildren Natalie Howard-Roman, Nathan Barnes, Kendal Mason, and Angel DeJesus III and great granddaughter McCartney Dougherty as well as many nieces and nephews.
