Obituary: Porfirio C. Luciano, 91, of Meriden
Porfirio worked 40 years at American Cyanamid Company as a reactor operator and was a dedicated member of the Meriden Common Council.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Porfirio C. Luciano, 91, of Meriden, beloved husband of the late Maria Luisa (Gomez) Luciano, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Midstate Medical Center.
Born on October 9, 1930, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. He was the son of the late Eloiso and Ramona (Fraticelli) Luciano. Porfirio was a longtime resident of Meriden and a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
He was employed for 40 years at American Cyanamid Company, Wallingford as a reactor operator. He was voted and appointed by the Meriden Common Council as a city sheriff with his Spanish heritage to be beneficial to the community he was serving.
Porfirio is survived by his son, Daniel Luciano and his wife, Sun Lee, of Texas; two daughters, Saida Luciano, of Meriden, Sandra Smith, of Manchester; one brother, Eloiso Luciano, of Guayanilla, PR; three sisters, Delma Gonzalez, of Meriden, Carmen Acosta, of Guayanilla, PR, Ramona Luciano, of Mayaguez, PR; His greatest joy was spending time with his seven grandchildren; Jay, Christine, Shelina, Veronica, Jennifer, Roberto, and Katherine; seven great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson Adam Luciano.
The Luciano family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. A funeral service will begin at 6pm inside the funeral home.
