Obituary: Richard M. Kwolek, 84, of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT - (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home) Richard M. Kwolek, 84, passed away on Sunday August 29, 2021 at Hartford Hospital.

He was the husband of Gloria (Decker) Kwolek, his loving wife and best friend of 57 years.

Born on July 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Milton and Valeria (Rusczek) Kwolek.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Meriden.

He attended local schools and was a member of the US National Guard.

Richard worked for the Allegheny Ludlum Corporation in Wallingford, from where he retired. He was a member of the Meriden Elks Lodge #35, the North Italian Home Club and the PBA.

Richard was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He especially loved spending summers with his family at their house on Lake Hayward.

In addition to his wife Gloria, Richard is survived by his daughter Ellen S. Kwolek of Meriden; his grandson Ryan and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son John J. Kwolek.

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday September 3rd in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 20 Catlin St., Meriden at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
