Obituary: Stephen J. Besek, 69, formerly of Meriden
Stephen, known for his laughter and kind heart, worked many years for the State of Connecticut, was an avid music fan and loving family man.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Stephen J. Besek, 69, of Moodus, formerly of Meriden, died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital.
He was born in Meriden, December 4, 1952, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Prigitano) Besek and was employed by the State of Connecticut until his retirement.
Everyone that knew Steve knew he had a passion for music, loud music. He also enjoyed peaceful mornings relaxing with coffee, reading his newspaper by the water at the Salmon River.
He loved his family dearly and always spoke of his daughters. Grandpa with the Chickens truly loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Steve especially looked forward to his weekly phone call with his great grandson Jonah, to hear him laugh at the other end of the phone was priceless to him.
Steve was a member of the American Legion, Post #156 in Moodus, where he enjoyed spending time with close friends, Helena Wilson and many members of which were family to him.
He has touched so many lives with his laughter and kind heart and will be missed by many.
Stephen is survived by his three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa and Tom Schafrick, Dawn and Rick Pattison, and Michelle Besek; his grandchildren, Felecia, Toree, Kyle, Patricia, Kara and Jonah; his great grandchildren, Aubree, Serenity and L.J.; his sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne Majkrzak, and Linda and Wayne DelVecchio; and his niece, Kimberly Listro.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Thursday, December 23rd, from 9am to 11am.
Interment will be private.
