Connecticut lottery players will be looking to strike it rich with a $550 million jackpot – the second largest in Powerball history. What would you do if you won that much money and could quit your job and never work again?
Meriden business owners David Ortiz of Feel Fresh Hair Studio and Sara Owen, owner of Café Dolce, gave us their take.
“I’d open a cosmetology studio in every state,” Ortiz said, joking afterwards that once they were open, he’d never work a day again.
Owen said she’d stay busy, committing her time to volunteer work and spending time with her nephews. She said although the idea that never working again seems nice, she’d want to stay busy and remain involved in the community and give back to others.
Ortiz said he’d also make sure to donate at least several million to charity, a thought approved by customer Luis Torres, as the two stated they’d also make sure their family and close friends didn’t have to worry about debt anymore.
