Red Cross Helping Two Meriden Families Displaced by Fire

Fire on Britannia Street damaged townhouse apartment Sunday afternoon.

 

The American Red Cross is helping six people displaced by a fire Sunday in Meriden. 

Four adults and two children escaped the fire which started in the furnace room of the building on Britannia Street, according to the Meriden Record Journal.

The fire damaged the first and second floor of the building. The Red Cross is providing the two families with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
