“The Meriden Police Department Detective Division would like to thank members of the City of Meriden Board of Education who worked together to help us successfully investigate this bomb threat,” police wrote in a news release. “We would also like to thank the staff from Hartford Hospital that assisted us as well. Due to the disruption to the community and learning environment as well as the vast number of resources required to respond to any school threat there is a tremendous impact from these incidents. These resources include multiple agencies both within the City of Meriden and State of Connecticut. The agencies spent several hours devoted to search warrants and interviews.
“We at the Meriden Police Department are wholeheartedly committed to fully investigating any and all school threats as well as holding the offenders accountable. It is our hope that these thorough investigations will allow us to ensure parents can feel comfortable sending their children to school. In addition to any criminal charges the offenders of these school threats will also face separate discipline from the school that they attend.”
