Vollano Announces Candidacy For State Rep. In 83rd House District

MERIDEN, CT — On Monday, dedicated community advocate and local podcaster, Joseph “Joe” Vollano, officially announced his candidacy for State Representative of the 83rd House District, which includes parts of Berlin, Cheshire, and Meriden.

Surrounded by his friends and family, Vollano shared his excitement, gratitude, and campaign commitment to public safety, affordability, and prioritizing constituent needs.

“I am excited to embark on this journey to serve the people of the 83rd,” Vollano said in his announcement. “It’s no secret: Connecticut becomes more unsafe, unaffordable, and divided every day because of partisan policy and a lack of input from our residents. I am running to bring back a sense of safety for our families, financial comfort for our residents and small businesses, and to rebuild local connections that transform our streets into pathways for community growth.”

In his address, Vollano summarized his platform into three categories: Public Safety, Economic Growth, and Community Engagement. After witnessing the effects of rising theft and other crimes in his district, Vollano seeks to collaborate with law enforcement on recruiting and retaining officers, while also investing in youth programs to deter juvenile crime. As a business owner, Vollano has the necessary experience to balance a stable budget that sustains economic growth and knows what it takes to attract new businesses and create new job opportunities.

Finally, Vollano values bipartisanship and is eager to implement an open-door policy as state representative. As Vollano mentioned, he looks forward to fostering an environment where every resident's voice is heard, despite their party affiliation, by hosting local discussions, business tours, senior center visits, and other district-wide events.

Vollano added, “I am running for state representative because we deserve safety for our community and financial security for our families and residents. We have a uniquely diverse district that needs to have its many voices echoed, and right now, we are being drowned out by partisan agendas. I encourage voters to contact me with their concerns so we can get a head-start towards restoring common sense in Hartford and to putting our needs first.”
