We the People Party Picks November Candidates, Including Santos for Mayor

Meriden's six-year-old conservative-leaning third party also chose four newcomers, James Ming, Niki Carabetta, Nancy Luca Kenney and Jerry Staszewski, for Board of Education.

The We the People Party chose its candidates Tuesday for the November election, including Manny Santos and other Republicans for mayor of Meriden, according to the Record Journal.

We the People stood behind Republican Councilman Daniel Brunet for re-election against Democrat Luke Ford. Santos, new to the political arena, is hoping to unseat Democratic Mayor Michael S. Rohde on Election Day.

The Meriden Republicans have chosen the following candidates for the November slate.

Mayor: Manuel "Manny" Santos
City Council Area 2: Josh Broekstra
City Council Area 3: Dan Brunet
City Council Area 4: Bob Williams
City Council At-Large: Lenny Rich
City Council At-Large: John Thorp
Board of Education: Scott Hozebin
Board of Education: Kim Carbone-Pandiani
