2 Firefighters Injured Battling 3-Alarm Fire: Middletown Fire
Middletown Fire Department officials said firefighters did an outstanding job keeping the fire from extending.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown Fire Department officials said two firefighters were injured during a three-alarm fire in a commercial building.
Sunday afternoon, Middletown fire personnel responded to a three-alarm fire in a commercial building on Liberty Street, fire officials said.
Fire officials said the first arriving companies did an outstanding job keeping the fire from extending to the exposures.

Two Middletown firefighters were injured while dealing with the fire; they were both treated and released, fire officials said.
Fire officials said Middletown firefighters were assisted by Meriden Fire, Portland Fire, South Fire District, Westfield Fire, Cromwell Fire and Westfield Fire departments.

Also assisting in the fire were: Hunters Ambulance, Middletown Health Department, Middletown Building Department, Middletown Water Department, Middletown Police Department and the American Red Cross, fire officials said.
The fire is under investigation by the Middletown Fire Department's Fire Marshals Office.
