Man Taken To Hospital After Jumping From Arrigoni Bridge
A search took place near the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown Wednesday morning after someone jumped from the span, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police said Wednesday morning they have located someone who jumped from the Arrigoni Bridge.
According to an incident report, at 9:18 a.m., Middletown police received a call from a passing motorist that a man had "intentionally" jumped from the Arrigoni Bridge.
It was originally believed that the man had gone into the Connecticut River, so Middletown police and fire crews utilized boats to check the area.

A short time later, it was determined that the man had jumped from the bridge, but he did not go into the river, according to an incident report. The man was located in the area of Portland Street and transported to Hartford Hospital with "serious physical injuries," according to an incident report.
He is listed in stable condition.

Police said the case is an active investigation and the man’s name is not being released at this time.
