Facsimile Gun Incident On Highway In Middletown Turns Into Real Charges: State Police
A Hartford man is facing gun and traffic charges after a highway road rage incident in Middletown, state police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Monday road rage incident in Middletown involving a facsimile gun turned into very real charges for a Hartford man, a state police report shows.
The incident took place at 5:32 p.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 91, right near Exit 20 and the Connecticut State Police headquarters, according to an arrest report.
At that time, state police received a 911 call about a road rage incident during which a gun was brandished, according to an arrest report. State police located the vehicle in question and the driver, identified as 25-year-old Hartford resident Dylan Sheldon, complied with a traffic stop initially, but then fled the scene, according to an arrest report.

State police broke off the pursuit after a short distance, but located Sheldon in the area a short time later, according to an arrest report.
The gun wound up being a facsimile firearm, state police said.

Nevertheless, Sheldon is facing a number of gun charges to go with traffic violations, according to an arrest report.
In all, he has been charged with:
- First-degree threatening with a firearm
- Illegal use of a facsimile firearm
- Illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle
- Disobeying the signal of an officer
- Reckless driving
- Driving whjile under suspension
- Improper use of a market plate
Sheldon posted a $25,000 bond and is expected in court on Dec. 5, records show.
