Middletown 2024 Election Results: Victors Emerging In Key Races
The latest updates on voting in Middletown in 2024.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

At the top of the ballot, residents were asked to vote on a referendum question that reads:
- "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"

In other election news, there was an election within an election Tuesday night, specifically in the probate district of Middletown, Cromwell, Middlefield and Durham.
Siting in the last row on the ballot was Democrat Phrances Leverton Szewczyk, a local attorney specializing in family law. She was running unopposed in a special election to replace Judge Joseph D. Marino following his retirement on May 3, 2025.
