Middletown Losing 1, Keeping 1 In Latest Round Of Walgreens Closings
A Middletown Walgreens is slated to close next month.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The latest news out of Walgreens is that one Middletown location will be shuttered next month and another will survive as the pharmacy chain continues to reduce its store roster across the country.
The Walgreens at 311 East Main Street is set to close on April 21, according to both the store staff and the Walgreens website. The store at 633 Washington St. location will remain open, according to staff members. The stores are a mile-and-a-half apart.
Walgreens also recently announced that the store at 1083 Boston Post Road in Milford will be shuttered two days earlier. A Waterbury store is also closing in April.

The news comes as Walgreens is planning to shutter 1,200 stores over the next three years.
Last month, Walgreens announced it was closing stores in Hartford and New Haven. In December, the pharmacy store chain announced closures in New Haven and one in East Hampton.
