Middletown Man Arrested In Connection With Stripped Cars At DOT Commuter Lot

A Middletown man is accused of stealing tire and wheels at a commuter lot in Cheshire, State police said.

CHESHIRE, CT — A Middletown man has been charged in connection with a state police investigation into tires and wheels being stripped off cars at a Cheshire commuter lot.

State police said that, on Tuesday, Western District Major Crimes Detectives located and arrested Aneudi Sifuentes, 20, of Middletown, on the strength of an active arrest warrant. The warrant stemmed from a series of crimes involving vehicles parked in the Connecticut Department of Transportation commuter lot near Exit 26 on Interstate 84, state police said.

The vehicles were targeted for their wheels and tires.

The warrant charged Sifuentes with two counts of third-degree larceny.

State police said Sifuentes was unable to post a $45,000 court set bond and he was to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Thursday, records show.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation with further arrests anticipated, state police said.

The investigation centers on June 20, July 10 and July 13, when troopers responded to the

1-84 Exit 26 commuter lot in Cheshire, for larcenies that were "similar" in nature. Each of the
the commuters stated that the wheels and tires were stolen off of their unattended vehicles while they were away.

A suspect was developed after a detective located a Facebook Marketplace advertisement for wheels
and tires consistent with those on the victims' vehicles, according to a warrant.
