Middletown Man Facing Auto Theft Charge Out Of East Hampton

A Middletown man was arrested in East Hampton in an auto theft investigation, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown man is facing charges in East Hampton in connection with an auto theft in that town, local police said.

James Ross, 44, of Middletown was taken into custody on Sept. 12 via an active arrest warrant, East Hampton police said.

  • Larceny of a motor vehicle
  • Evading responsibility – property damage
  • Driving with a suspended license
  • Failure to drive upon right

Ross was unable to post his initial $50,000 court-set bond, but bail was dropped down to a promise to appear at his arraignment on Sept. 18, judicial system records show.

He is due back before a judge on Oct. 1, records show.
