Middletown Police Pursuit After Stakeout Ends In Crash: Warrant
A man trying to elude detectives in Middletown was arrested after a violent crash, a warrant shows.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A 50-year-old man is facing a variety of charges after smashing into a parked car in an effort to elude police a warrant shows.
Middletown police shared a warrant for the case Monday via a Patch Freedom of Information request.
The case goes back to a stakeout last week.

On July 22, two Middletown detectives were patrolling the area of Maplewood Terrace, Omo Street, and Walnut Street and came across a silver Nissan Altima known to be associated with drug activity in the city, according to a warrant. The detectives also observed a group congregating around a bonfire behind an Omo Street residence that included Jakese Sessoms, who has been connected to the Nissan, according to a warrant.
Sessoms was observed hanging out at the bonfire for about an hour and was even involved in a scuffle, according to a warrant. He was already wanted in a threatening case and was also in violation of a protective order for being on the property, according to a warrant.

At 11:03 p.m., Sessoms climbed into the Nissan and drove away with the detectives in tow, according to a warrant.
With the detectives still following him on Ridge Road, Sessoms accelerated at a high rate of speed, according to a warrant. The detectives were able to get in front of him and throw stop sticks at the Nissan, but Sessoms swerved around them, according to a warrant.
He then tried to get ahead of the detective cruiser on the shoulder, but crashed into a parked vehicle in the process, a warrant shows.
Sessoms rolled down the window of the Nissan when police approached him, but was uncooperative with officers and had to be removed from the car and subdued, according to a warrant. He was sent to an area hospital, according to a warrant.
No "contraband" was located in the Nissan, according to a warrant.
Once Sessoms was released from hospital care, he was brought back to Middletown police headquarters and charged with violation of a protective order, second-degree reckless endangerment, traveling unreasonably fast, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, interfering with police, failure to maintain the proper lane, engaging police in a pursuit and disobeying the signal of an officer, according to a warrant.
The warrant for threatening was also served, records show.
Sessoms is currently being held on $220,000 worth of bonds and is also facing gun-related and restraining order chArges from 2024, records show.
He is due in court for all his outstanding cases on Sept. 16, records show.
