Middletown Schools Dismissing Early Ahead of Big Snow
The National Weather Service says Middletown will be experiencing close to 10 inches of snow by Friday morning, strong winds and dangerously cold wind chills. Check here throughout the storm for cancelations.

More snow — and blizzard-like conditions — are predicted in the day ahead for Middletown, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a winter weather advisory from through 1 p.m. Friday.
The early closings and cancelations are beginning.
- Middletown High and Vinal Technical schools will let out at 10:15 a.m.
- Woodrow Wilson and Keigwin Middle Schools will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.
- Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:15 p.m.
- The Northern Middlesex YMCA Kids Korner program closes at 5 p.m. at the elementary schools in Middletown.
A coastal storm will bring a potential for heavy snow and a blizzard warning for Thursday night into Friday morning, the National Weather Service predicts, with strong winds and dangerously cold wind chills through Friday afternoon.

The city of Middletown's sidewalk snow removal policy was reiterated last month on the website: "It is the responsibility of every property owner to clear or treat their sidewalk with sand or other suitable substance within 24 hours of snow fall.
Also, Public Works employees who find impassable sidewalks may treat the area and collect the cost from the property owner. "Any person who fails to comply with an order to remove snow or ice shall be fined."
