Middletown Snow Update: Businesses Closing Early
The National Weather Service upped its accumulation prediction for Middletown to 3 to 5 inches and extended its winter weather advisory through 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Several Middletown businesses and the library are closing early Tuesday afternoon as darkness falls and the snow continues to fall.
Fusion Bakery and NoRA Cupcake Co. shut their doors at 4:30 and 5 p.m. and the Russell Library closed at 3 p.m. Eli Cannon's Tap Room remains open and despite the weather (or perhaps appropriately so) is hosting a RedHook Brewery Ugly Sweater Party at 7 p.m.

Middletown Public Schools, Vinal Technical and Xavier High Schools are dismissing classes early Tuesday ahead of the snow while Mercy High has canceled school. Middlesex Community College has closed its Middletown campus.
- Middletown High School will dismiss at 10:30 a.m. as well as St.John Paul II School.
- Woodrow Wilson and Keigwin Middle Schools will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.
- Elementary schools will dismiss at noon
- There will be no preschool program
Oh No! More Snow Forecast Tue for Middletown
Ready or not, there's more snow predicted in the day ahead for Middletown, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. Tuesday.The alert is for southern Connecticut and Northern Long Island, including northern and southern Middlesex County. It says snow will develop during the morning rush hour and become moderate to locally heavy at times by mid-morning Tuesday. Snow will taper off to snow showers during the start of the afternoon rush hour.
