Middletown Woman Charged With Felony Escape After Nearly Year-Long Search: Warrant

A Middletown woman who fled the judicial system about a year ago and is now facing an escape charge, state police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown woman who was given a break on a prison sentence escaped custody and was located and arrested about a year later, state police said.

Jennifer Nash-Jones, 37, was charged via a warrant with first-degree escape.

According to a warrant, the case dates back to Aug. 16, 2024, when Nash Jones was sentenced to 10 months in prison on a conviction for fourth-degree larceny and failure to appear in court.

Two months later, she was assigned to a transitional placement with the end of her sentence slated for March 1 of this year, according to a warrant. On Nov. 5, 2024, she was supposed to report to the Hartford District Parole Office and failed to show up, according to a warrant.

Repeated attempts to reach Nash-Jones were not successful, according to a warrant.

She was finally tracked down and arrested on Oct. 28 of this year by state police out of the Troop C barracks in Tolland County, according to a warrant.
