Middletown Woman Named PGA TOUR's TPC Network Employee of the Year

Robin Morello of TPC River Highlands was named the inaugural recipient of the PGA TOUR's TPC Network A. James Clark Award.

Of more than 2,000 employees, Middletown resident Robin Morello of TPC River Highlands was named the inaugural recipient of the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network A. James Clark Award.

Morello received the award on March 8 at a ceremony at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., that included PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem and John Hugghins, Senior Vice President of TPC Operations.

Nominees for the award embody a commitment to excellence by upholding the values of the TPC Network and the ideals of the PGA TOUR, while also demonstrating the same strong work ethic and inspirational leadership qualities of the late Mr. A. James Clark, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clark Enterprises and longtime member of the PGA TOUR’s Golf Course Properties Advisory Board.

“Affectionately referred to as ‘mom’ or ‘mama bird’ by the entire team at TPC River Highlands, Robin plays an integral role in making our members and guests feel special each and every day,” said TPC River Highlands General Manager David Corrado. “Robin will regularly bring popsicles in for the kids at the pool, cook meals for a member that has had surgery or is sick, and fosters relationships with the members by learning and asking about their families. This dedication to service drives the rest of our staff to reach the same level, raising the bar for all to strive for.”

'The Home Away From Home Feel'

In addition to being the first recipient of the Network-wide award, Robin has made her mark at the club, having won Employee of the Month more than a dozen times before being recognized as the TPC River Highlands Employee of the Year in 2014. According to Corrado, her ability to create the home away from home feel at the club is key to member retention and acquisition success.

Robin’s selflessness extends far beyond the golf course, Corrado said. She is well known in the community for heading up food drives at Middletown Homeless Shelter, as well as collecting toys for underprivileged children at Christmas. She distributes “blessing bags” to the homeless, providing items many take for granted.
