Middletown's 2023 4th Of July Fireworks Details Released
The annual fireworks festival will feature live music, family festivities and food vendors.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown’s annual Fireworks Festival will present a dazzling fireworks display set off directly from a barge on the Connecticut River.
The annual Fireworks Festival will be on Saturday, July 1, at 5 p.m., with fireworks starting just after dark, around 9:30 p.m. A rain date of July 2 has been set.
The festival will take place along the Connecticut River at Harbor Park and on the front lawn of the City’s Municipal Building, 245 DeKoven Dr.

“The Fireworks Festival is a signature event for the City of Middletown, enjoyed by people throughout the region,” Mayor Ben Florsheim said. “I am looking forward to this year’s Festival as a chance for the community to come together, celebrate, and enjoy our unique riverfront and vibrant downtown as we celebrate Independence Day.”
The family-friendly festival typically draws large crowds to the downtown area of Middletown. There will be live music, family festivities, and numerous food vendors throughout the harbor area and along DeKoven Drive.

Parts of Court Street, DeKoven Drive, Harbor Drive, Dingwall Drive, MLK Way, River Road and Eastern Drive will be closed during portions of the festival.
All public health guidelines will be followed so everyone can enjoy a safe and spectacular event.
As the date draws closer, the city of Middletown will provide more details about this year’s Fireworks Festival, main stage performances, road closures, parking and viewing suggestions.
