Obituary: Mary Crovo, 89, Former Middletown Teacher

Mary Arlene Crovo (Mullen), 89, of Middlefield, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 10, 2016. She is pre-deceased by her husband, John Wolfe Crovo and her daughter, Toni Marie Crovo.

Mary was born in Brockton, MA in 1926. She is deeply missed and loved by her surviving family, who include her 4 children, John Crovo of East Haddam, CT, Richard Crovo of Millersville, MD, David Crovo and Linda Crovo of Middlefield, CT, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mary was a teacher at Long Lane School in Middletown, CT for 20 years. While raising her children she earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree in Education from Central Connecticut State University.

Spending her early retirement years in the Daytona Beach, FL area, she enjoyed golfing, reading and walking the beaches to collect shells. In her later years, Mary lived in her family home in Middlefield, CT and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America. A service is planned for July 2016.
