Person Discovered Dead After Cromwell Vehicle Fire

Police are seeking information from the public.

CROMWELL, CT — An individual was found dead inside a motor vehicle which had been on fire in a town park Sunday.

Police received several 911 calls around 6:35 a.m. Sunday of a vehicle on fire in the area of Riverport Park at Frisbee Park, a municipal park off River Road, police said, in a press release.

Police and firefighters responded and found a vehicle “fully engulfed” in fire, according to police.

After firefighters extinguished the fire, emergency responders discovered a single occupant dead inside the vehicle.

Police have not released the identity of the victim.

The incident remains under investigation by local police detectives, along with Cromwell and state fire marshals.
