Recycling Center To Require Sticker: Here's What You Need To Know

MIDDLETOWN, CT – According to city officials, Middletown residents will soon need to obtain a sticker to use the recycling center.

Starting July 1, only Middletown taxpayers can use the recycling center by obtaining a sticker from the Department of Public Works in City Hall (Room 210) from Monday to Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by filling out the online form and the sticker will be mailed to you.

Middletown residents can also obtain a sticker during the Recycling Center Community Day on Monday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Recycling Center, 185 Johnson St.

There is no charge for Middletown residents to obtain the sticker.

However, all contractors transporting waste of any kind to the Middletown Recycling Center must license with the city and obtain a sticker at $25 per vehicle to use the recycling.

City officials said stickers must be affixed to the vehicle window.
