Report: Robberies Up on Wesleyan University Campus as Assaults Decline
Middletown's liberal arts college reported its crime statistics as part of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Instances of breaking and entering has risen dramatically at Wesleyan University in the last year while sexual assault reports have declined, according to a Middletown Press investigation into federal safety reports.
Universities nationwide must produce an annual safety report as part of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the Press reports.
Burglaries at Middletown's liberal arts college increased from 24 to 49 between 2011 and 2012, mostly taking place in residential facilities, the Press reports. It also cites three robberies and three aggravated assaults were reported on campus in 2012, with zero reported the year before and only one aggravated assault that year.

In September, the unnamed woman settled her $10 million suit for an undisclosed amount.
