Serious Crash Reported In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — There was a serious motor vehicle accident on Washington Street Tuesday morning, according to police.

The Fire Department reported the accident involves a fuel truck rollover, with an active leak. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is responding to the scene, fire officials said.

As of 10:45 a.m., police and fire officials were on scene investigating the crash, which happened near the shopping plazas.

Washington Street is closed at Camp Street and Old Mill Road.

Police urged motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, such as Westfield Street.
