Steve Carell Visits Popular Pizzeria In Middletown

The star of "The Office" stopped by the restaurant this week, according to the owners.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Celebrities have been known to stop by for a slice of Connecticut pizza, and it’s not just limited to the famous apizza on Wooster Street in New Haven.

Steve Carell, star of TV’s iconic “The Office” series and several big movies, stopped by Mondo Restaurant on Main Street in Middletown for some cheese pizza this week, according to the owners.

“We just had the pleasure of serving one of these large cheese pizzas to Steve Carell who could not have been nicer!” reads a post on Mondo Restaurant’s Facebook page. “I didn’t ask for a picture because I’m a wimp & didn’t want to bother him, which I already regret.”

While the owner didn’t grab a photo, a customer did share of photo of Carell at the restaurant in the comments section of the Facebook post.

There have been several celebrity sightings in Middletown over the years.

Hollywood icon Harrison Ford stopped by O'Rourke's Diner on Main Street in 2018. Ford and his wife, actress Calista Flockhart, was at the diner with their son while they were reportedly in the city to visit Wesleyan University.
