Two Motorists Injured In I-91 Crash In Middletown: Police

The two-vehicle crash happened early Wednesday, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – Two motorists were injured in an early Wednesday morning crash involving a rollover on I-91 northbound, state police said.

The two-vehicle accident happened around 7 a.m. near Exit 20.

Both drivers were transported to an area hospital for minor injuries, according to state police.

The Westfield Fire Department indicated on its Facebook page that both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by Good Samaritans prior to firefighters’ arrival.

One of the two vehicles rolled over, went through a guardrail and sustained heavy damage, according to the fire department. The other car spun out and had moderate damage in the collision.

A portion of the highway was closed while police investigated. The scene was cleared and the highway was fully reopened around 8:20 a.m., police said.

The state Department of Transportation was contacted to fix damage to the guardrails.
