$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Milford

A man was a big winner after buying the ticket in Milford.

MILFORD, CT — A popular rest stop in Milford became a bit more popular last week when a New York State resident bought a Powerball ticket there that turned into a $1 million winner.

Connecticut Lottery officials said the ticket was purchased on April 13 at the Pilot Travel Center on Old Gate Lane by Wayne Hightower, of Middletown, NY. The ticket paid out $1 million even, lottery officials said.

The next Powerball drawing is on April 22 and the jackpot, as of Thursday morning, stood at $90 million, according to lottery officials.
