Accused Shoplifters Punch Loss Prevention Officer Then Flee: Police

Police shared several incidents across Milford, including a man charged after a foot race, a barrel fire extinguished and a Mercedes stolen.

Nov. 16

  • A man with nine active warrants and after a food chase was charged, police said.
  • A man was charged with shoplifting at Boscov’s, police said.
  • A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck by a car on Bridgeport Avenue. The vehicle fled. There were no injuries, police said.
  • A man with two warrants was charged after a motor vehicle stop near Exit 29, police said.

  • A vehicle backed through the glass doors at Life Storage. No injuries were reported, police said.
  • A woman was charged for shoplifting at Macy’s, police said.
  • There was an attempted shoplifting and robbery after a man and woman stole items from Macy’s and punched the loss prevention officer in the face before fleeing. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
  • A man was charged by the Norwalk Police Department and turned over to the Milford Police Department for an active arrest warrant for a larceny that occurred in June, police said.
  • A small fire was extinguished in a barrel at Eisenhower Park, police said.

Nov. 18

  • A woman turned herself in after being accused of a larceny that occurred in September, police said.
  • A man was charged with a DUI after a road rage incident, police said.
  • A man was charged with a DUI on Boston Post Road, police said.
  • Theft from a vehicle on New Haven Avenue was reported, police said.
  • A man was charged after an out-of-town warrant. He was turned over to the New Haven Police Department, police said.
  • A vehicle crashed into a house on Pont Point Avenue. The operator was extracted and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The family needed to be relocated for structural damage to the house, police said.
