MILFORD, CT — A young local girl is making an impact on the community through a generous donation to Milford Animal Control.

Eight-year-old Juliana Pettis made a donation of $350 of cat, kitten, and dog food, treats, and toys for all the animals at the shelter.

Meg Fiore, who also does animal rescue and shared this story, said that Juliana raised the funds by holding a lemonade stand on her street in Milford and by also saving her Tooth Fairy money. Fiore called Juliana "an angel to the animals."

Juliana’s mother, Amy Pettis, said that she has had an immense love for all animals since a very young age.

"The shelter staff could see this intense bond Juliana shared with the animals as she sat down with one of the new resident kittens who was a little skittish and the kitten took to cuddling and purring in Juliana’s lap instantly," Fiore said.

"Milford Animal Control extends their sincerest gratitude for Juliana’s kind, generous and ever so thoughtful contribution," Fiore added. "Not only will the shelter animals be thrilled with all the food and presents, but this food will also go to serve those local Milford animal owners who cannot afford to feed their pets. The MAC donates out to those in need in order to keep the owners and pets together."
