Business Burglarized, Damaged, Man Charged On Warrant: Milford PD

Officers found the front door of the business ripped off and glass broken when they responded to the call in early 2024, police said.

MILFORD, CT — Police say a New Britain man was charged in connection with a burglary to a local Milford business.

On Jan. 30, police responded to Galaxy Fuel at 180 New Haven Avenue for a possible burglary, police said.

Officers found the front door of the business ripped off and glass broken, police added.

Police said the suspect vehicle pulled to the front of the business at 3 a.m. Three men exited the vehicle wearing masks and gloves, police said. The men pried the front door open, entered the business and took the ATM using a cable, police said.

"The ATM was valued at $3000, and the total damage was worth approximately $6000," police said in a news release. "The detective bureau took over the investigation and developed three suspects. All suspects have been arrested at this time."

The final outstanding warrant was for Steve Irizarry, 31, of New Britain, police said. Irizarry was taken into custody on July 15 at New Britain Superior Court.

He was booked and charged with the following:

  • Burglary 3rd
  • Conspiracy to Commit Burglary 3rd
  • Criminal Mischief 1st
  • Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief 1st
  • Larceny 5th
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5th

A $135,000 court set bond was placed on Irizarry. He was released after posting bond.
