'Bread Or Alive': Home-Based Bakery Now Accepting Orders In Milford

A bakery that makes "small batches" and focuses on "quality and creativity" is open for business in Milford.

MILFORD, CT — Bread or Alive is a new home-based business in Milford offering homemade breads, cookies, and more.

Nicole Maresca started the business and is now accepting orders.

"Everything is baked in small batches and delivered with a focus on quality and creativity," she said.

She said that baking has been a passion of hers since childhood.

"I grew up baking with my mom and grandmother, and during COVID I began experimenting more seriously," Maresca said. "Over time, what started as a personal joy turned into requests from friends, family, and teacher colleagues, which eventually led me to make Bread or Alive official as of August 2025. I have been perfecting my recipes and decoration techniques for years now!"

In addition to bread and cookies, she also offers custom celebration bakes, like decorated sugar cookies.

For now, orders can be placed directly through a Google Form.

There are currently four items on offer: customized royal icing sugar cookies, cinnamon buns, white cottage loaves, and brown butter chocolate chip cookies.

Maresca said she will be sharing updates, specials, and seasonal offerings on her Instagram page.
