Car Catches Fire Under Bridge: Milford Fire Department

Traffic was stopped, and DOT was called and sent an engineer to inspect the bridge for damage, Adam Hansen said.

MILFORD, CT — A car caught fire southbound on I-95 during peak traffic hour in Milford, Adam Hansen, Milford Fire Department PIO, said.

On Friday, Nov. 10, around 7:43 a.m., fire personnel responded to a report of a car fire on I-95 southbound around Exit 39, Hansen said.

When Engine 7, Squad 1 and Car 4 arrived, they found a passenger-style vehicle engulfed in flames directly under the Forest Road underpass, Hansen said.

Companies extinguished the fire and overhauled the vehicle, Hansen said.
