"FD units made contact with the mother via cell phone, however, she refused to turn around and come back to shore," officials said in a statement. "MFD marine vessels launched, and were able to locate the windsurfer about a mile offshore of Morningside Dr. The wife made it back to shore on her own accord, and the windsurfer (father) was loaded onto a Fire Dept Marine Vessel and taken back to an awaiting ambulance for evaluation. He was evaluated and refused medical attention."
