Why are you seeking this office?

To be a voice in Hartford for my constituents. I will continue to advocate on their behalf for tax cuts for working class families, keep spending down, preserve local control of zoning, improve public safety. I will continue to advocate to protect victims of domestic violence and continue working to make and keep our roads safe. I will work to protect Long Island Sound.

What do you believe is the No. 1 issue facing Connecticut, and how do you plan to address it?

The cost of living. Many people are living paycheck to paycheck stretching every dollar with rising costs at the grocery store, increased utility costs, health insurance. I will continue to fight for income tax cuts, keep spending under control and fight continued utility increases.

There have been an alarming number of deaths on Connecticut's roadways. Is there anything from a legislative standpoint that can be done to address that?

It is incumbent upon all of us to slow down, put those electronic devices away. I will continue to find ways to address impaired drivers, speeding and reckless driving, working with both the department of motor vehicles and department of transportation.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I hope my experience over the last six years speaks for itself. I am determined, compassionate, engaging, approachable and always willing to listen. I care deeply for the communities I represent and will continue to fight to make our state a place to live, work and retire in.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I delivered an income tax cut for working class families, extended budgetary controls to pay down state debt. I fought a mandate to ban gas cars and trucks. I fought for improved public safety measures to address juvenile crime and street takeovers. I am proud to have advocated and passed legislation to protect domestic violence victims and I am passionate about being a voice for women’s health.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am committed to working for the residents of Milford and Orange. I have achieved a 100% voting record. It is an honor and privilege to serve.
